CFB Week 3 Picks

10 and 3 Mother Truckers.

10. And. 3.

That brings our record on the year to 14-6 for a robust 70%.

I am legitimately concerned that you guys will be cut off from your bookies after the week we just had. We made straight up paper bill stacks. I have already fielded multiple emails informing me that some of you have quit your jobs. And to those of you that have, I say welcome to early retirement. Whenever your significant other or parents ridicule you for exiting normal society, be sure to Gronkowski spike a stack of benjamins in their face and tell them, “Money Train forever”.

Here’s the picks for this week:

Oklahoma State -13.5 @ Pittsburgh

Coming into the season I knew that Oklahoma State’s offense would be good. What I didn’t see coming is how talented the Cowboy’s defense would be. It looks to me like Mike Gundy has a solid all around team that could do some real damage this year. OSU’s offense will eventually take off against Pitt and will win by more than 2 TD’s.

UCLA @ Memphis +3

When I first saw this line it seemed like UCLA would be the obvious choice. But one thing I’ve learned about Vegas is that when it seems obvious then watch out… When you look into the numbers, Memphis has a strong rushing game. In their home opener they rushed for 319 yards and ran for 4 touchdowns. UCLA struggled mightily to stop the run against Texas A&M and the Hawaiians. The Aggies totaled 382 rushing yards and the Rainbow Warriors went for 281. Add in the factor that the West Coast pretty boys have to come play in the dirty south and I’ll take Memphis with the points.

Baylor @ Duke -14

Baylor football has been downgraded to a full on raging dumpster fire. The team is sitting at 0-2 with losses to Liberty and University of Texas San Antonio. They are a team that has nothing to play for but their own pride and apparently that’s not even worth it. Cutcliffe has his team playing as well to start the season as I can remember and I expect them to keep it rolling.

Clemson -3 @ Louisville

I know I have been down on Louisville this year but Lamar Jackson has looked good. But after seeing that pass rush from Clemson last week, he’s going to have his hands full. They had 11 sacks against Auburn. ELEVEN. Clemson has to be the team to beat until proven otherwise.

LSU @ Mississippi State +7

I got a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell. I have been to Starkville for a game and that home field advantage is underrated. A stadium full of Mississippians spitting tobacco, wearing camo hats, and shaking cowbells is college football at its finest. I am a fan of Dan Mullen and he always puts at least a decent product on the field. LSU is a good team but I like getting this team at home with points.

Army +30 @ Ohio State

The boys from West Point come into the Horseshoe 2-0. Ohio Sate is coming off an emotional game and will be looking ahead to Big Ten play. If the game gets late and they’re up, their main priority will become keeping starters healthy. Army will find a way to score a couple touchdowns and cover this spread.

Kansas State @ Vanderbilt +4

Kansas State and Vanderbilt have both looked good to start the season. Honestly, I see this game as more of a toss up. I perceive these to be even teams so I am all over the squad that has home field advantage and is getting points. Don’t sleep on the Dores this year.

Kentucky @ South Carolina -6

South Carolina comes into this game (2-0) ATS and Kentucky (0-2) ATS. Every year some SEC team gets way over hyped coming into the season. I literally have heard multiple so called experts say Kentucky is a legitimate dark horse to win the SEC east… UK has opened with a couple of close games to Southern Miss and Eastern Kentucky. I predict another ho-hum football season for the wildcats. Their fans will be engaged with football until Big Blue Madness rolls around. Now South Carolina on the other hand continues to look like a real SEC east contender.
