Back to the lab again.
I won’t sugar coat (or as Lebron James says ‘sugar code’) things. We had a poor showing last week. Almost everything went against us as we posted a record of 2-5. All I’ll say is thank goodness for Auburn and Wake Forest. Vandy should have covered but apparently Jim McElwain received some mythical spirit animal powers from being intimate with that shark. Ever since they lost to Michigan, Florida’s been luckier than a fox with a key to the hen house.
As disappointing as last week was, that was our only losing week of the season. I’ve learned from my mistakes and we’re poised to improve on our already impressive 28-15 record (65.1%). I am writing this blog post on Monday cause I’m that eager to get us back to winning money. So load up on all 11 of these games and enjoy the cash windfall.
Louisville @ NC State +4
I like this NC State team. For those of you that missed their road win over Florida State, they put together an impressive performance. The D Line puts pressure on the QB and they play with swag. It seems Louisville will stay overrated as long as Lamar Jackson is under center. With NC State being the home team, this line surprised me. This is a Thursday night game and this win will get us started on the right foot.
West Virginia +14 @ TCU
TCU has put together an impressive season so far but this line seems big. West Virginia is a team I continue to think highly off. This is mostly due to Will Greer and the fact that this team puts up POINTS. WVU will be able to hang with TCU in this one.
LSU @ Florida -3
Considering LSU’s performance to this point, can anyone back them in this game? Their most recent outings include a beating from an average football team in Mississippi St and a straight up loss to Troy. Coach O is a joke and his team clearly isn’t playing for him. Florida still controls their own destiny and continues to find ways to win games. Florida also gets this one in the Swamp.
Miami @ Florida State +3.5
College football is an emotional sport. And when it comes to rivalries, streaks matter. FSU has won the last 7 in a row against the Hurricanes. Miami has looked like world beaters but I still question the level of their competition to this point. Don’t forget how stacked with talent Jimbo Fisher’s roster is. Plus in a series that is known to come down to a field goal, doesn’t that 3.5 look enticing??
Alabama @ Texas A&M +26.5
Part of me can’t believe I’m betting against Bama. But at some point this is getting ridiculous. Bama is still full of college kids and they can’t emotionally get up for every game. They smacked Vandy cause they ran their mouth and Saban for the rest of time will have a vendetta against Ole Miss. Kevin Sumlin has quietly rallied his team to 4-1 and as we all know they should be 5-0. We’ll say Bama wins by 24 and A&M covers.
Michigan State @ Michigan -13
I feel as if Michigan is slipping under the radar this year. They have been nothing short of dominate and they haven’t gotten a ton of fanfare from the national media. Michigan will dispatch the Spartans easily in the Big House on Saturday.
Missouri +12 @ Kentucky
Look, I realize Missouri is not very good. But Kentucky refuses to blow anybody out this year. Their highest margin of victory so far is 11 and that includes a game between Eastern Michigan and Eastern Kentucky. Kentucky will win outright but Missouri covers the spread.
Washington State @ Oregon (Pick)
Is there a better fade spot than this one? Washington State is coming off a huge victory over USC. I saw that so far 97% of backers are on the cougars in this game…. Oregon is at home and ready to play spoiler. Take Oregon and drink the tears of all the squares that bet on Washington State.
Stanford @ Utah +7
On the back of a talented young mobile quarterback, Utah has a 4-0 record straight up and ATS. Utah has been undervalued time and again this year and all they do is cover spreads. Stanford on the other hand always gets more respect than they deserve. This game is a late west coast kick and the Utes get this one on their home turf. I expect the game to be close so take the points.
Temple -2.5 @ East Carolina
Neither of these teams are any good but ECU is downright stinky garbage.
Kansas State @ Texas -3.5
Is it just me or does anybody else think K State and Snyder get too much credit? Texas has played decently well since their opening week debacle against Maryland. They played USC to overtime and they proved the Money Train wrong with a cover on the road last week. I’m willing to give Texas a shot in this spot. Texas should have the superior talent and Tom Herman may start to get a groove with his new team.
