I’m no barbarian. I’m a man with principles.
Uncompromising principles that I live by. And I’m convinced that last week’s record matches Lebron’s finals record (3-5) because karma comes back strong on a man that goes against one of his betting creeds.
Don’t bet on Kentucky football. Ever.
Don’t fret UK fans. Drake, Calipari, and the Illuminati’s Kentucky basketball team will no doubt distract you from football soon enough.
We’re officially in the back half of the season and we still have a stellar record of 44-25 (63.8%). We have only 2 overall losing weeks out of 9. Lesser men would lower their pick totals. Play it safe the rest of the way. But here’s the thing… SCARED MONEY DON’T MAKE NO MONEY. We’re not out for just a decent season. I’m trying to get us all yacht rich. Here’s this week’s plays:
Florida State -2.5 @ Boston College
FSU is 0-5-1 ATS this year and at some point something has got to give. This team is way too talented to be laying less than a field goal to Boston College. Ignore the fact that BC beat Louisville and then Louisville turned right around and beat FSU. Transitive property doesn’t work in sports wagering and I’m starting to think Lamar Jackson just owns the Seminoles.
Oklahoma State @ West Virginia +7.5
I think these teams are close to evenly matched. Ok State has yet to beat up on anybody that matters. WVU has 2 loses but they kept both scores close. Throw in the fact that this game is being played in the hills and I like taking the points.
Georgia -13.5 vs Florida
I don’t know what this game is called anymore but to me its still The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party dammit. Just cause they call it something different on television doesn’t change a thing. This game is one of southern college football’s better traditions as you have 2 wild fanbases coming together to drink and possibly fight. Usually I like to ride streaks but this is not the same Georgia or Florida of recent years. The gators still have a defensive presence but I don’t know where their offense is going to come from. Georgia is looking like a complete team and they will be jacked up for this one.
Penn State +7 @ Ohio State
Full disclosure, I got Penn State at +7 (-130) at the site I’m using. I assume most of you will have them listed at +6 or 6.5. I say still take them at that number. If this was a usual Buckeyes team this would be the perfect spot to fade PSU. I assume most of the squares will be taking the Nittany Lions after they dispatched Michigan with ease. But I still think OSU has issues and Penn State is for real. James Franklin has this team rolling and playing with confidence. Shaquan Barkley is the best player in college football and with another dominate performance in this one he could lock up the Heisman.
NC State +7.5 @ Notre Dame
The Wolfpack is a very quiet 6-1. They have a formidable pass rush and a quality qb. Its tough to go against Notre Dame the way they are playing but I think NC State has more than enough bite to keep this game close.
TCU -6 @ Iowa State
This week I’m trusting my eyes and betting that Georgia, Penn State, and this TCU team are all three deservedly near the top of the rankings. At 7-0 straight up and 5-2 ATS, TCU has been taking care of business. I assume they’ll have little trouble with Iowa State.
Georgia Tech +14.5 @ Clemson
The Yellow Jackets have lost two games by a combined two points. They’re that close to being undefeated. Clemson has had a bye week to stew on their loss and prepare for the triple option but I would guess the scout team is no where close to replicating Ga Tech’s offense. Paul Johnson’s qb is perfect for his system and their offensive line moves people off the ball. Its hard to blow a team like that out so take the points.
Vanderbilt @ South Carolina -7
Vanderbilt has been exposed for the fraud they are. But in their defense, Bama has a way of crushing team’s souls. They have been repeatedly routed since that loss and now they have to go on the road to Columbia. South Carolina is coming off of a bye so they should be fresh.
USC -3 @ Arizona State
This is a classic fade the trends game. USC is an abysmal 1-6 ATS this year. They just got flat out embarrassed up in South Bend. Arizona State is coming off two impressive wins over Utah and Washington. If USC has any pride about them they’ll come out with something to prove. I’m betting ASU comes back down to earth after this one.
